Day 63: Tangy Tomato & the Possibility of "Little Pakistan"?

OYLPA Day 63: Tangy Tomato, originally uploaded by klodhie.
It's always nice to run into a decently decorated, clean desi restaurant with an "A" rating - a rare occurrence! Mother and I had a buffet lunch at Tangy Tomato in Little India and wondered if there will ever be a "Little Pakistan" in Southern California as our community grows. It gets tiring calling up different aunties to figure out who has just come back from Pakistan with a new batch of shalwar kameez in the latest Pakistani fashion (these days it's the floor-length dress - cannot wait for this style to go out of fashion, makes everyone look pregnant).

  1. Check out BBQ Tonite at the crossing of Hawthorne and Rosecrans. Keep in mind though, It's really risky recommending a Pakistani restaurant because quality control is a huge problem with desi restaurants. I've only been there once but highly recommend it

  2. Thanks for the recommendation! I went there during Ramadan and I liked it - one of the better Pakistani restaurants I've been too. I completely forgot about it though so thanks for the reminder, and will have to check it out soon =)
