I know, I know, my Urdu handwriting is pretty pathetic and ugly, but I'm in the process of practicing. Have to get this down pat within the next 2 months....O__o
Thanks DreamWeaver! I appreciate the support =) I think I got lucky having had to learn the Arabic script when I was a kid...can't imagine learning Urdu from scratch!!!
To fix my Urdu writing skills and learn the grammar rules (just in order to be able to teach it), I've been using Colloquial Urdu: The Complete Course for Beginners (Bhatia and Koul), which I ordered years and years ago. I wouldn't actually recommend it as the best source because I can see that for a non-native speaker it would be very difficult to follow the quick and slightly disorganized lessons. Just thought I'd mention the text I'm using though =)
I've been trying to learn Urdu for 3 years now, and I still can't even remember all the alphabet yet...you're doing amazing!
