I've found that few things are quite as peaceful as a solitary walk in the crisp winter air, rediscovering those little things along your way that you've passed by a million times but have never really seen. The orange rust on a white fence, paint chipping off. The sun peeking through branches. That fresh and renewed way a tree looks without its fussy leaves and flowers. The gravel on the ground a hundred shades of gray.
While I itch to leave and explore the world, I also learn to appreciate what's beautiful in the space around me at home.
