Khala in Lahore mailed me these wonderful Urdu script lesson materials by Qamar Ahmed Ali Khan, Karachi Grammar School. They employ a new method of teaching the Urdu script according to what is referred to as "choti shakal" (small face/version), teaching students first how to create the basic line movements needed to create letters and words later on. I look forward to using this new method in just a few weeks! Time to create some serious PowerPoints and handouts...
Bonus Question: What in the world is that object in the upper left-hand corner that begins with the retroflex/hard "D" sound?!
