Here, your friends become like family, especially in the way that even after not seeing or talking with them for months and months on end, when you do see them, it's like it always was before, and that is one of the nicest feelings. There's no small talk or fake smiling; it's all down to fun business, "Kiran baji, we're playing Uno, you want to play?" and laughter over silly things amidst semi-serious conversations of the latest news from Pakistan and so and so getting married/divorced, and biryani and chai and halwa and paan. These kinds of days make me really happy. Home away from home.
